Booyah Networks Opens L.A. Office, Hires Director of Content Acquisition
Former Singingfish exec opens office in Los Angeles for Boulder company.
BOULDER, CO (March 27, 2006) – Booyah Networks, a Boulder-based online marketing and technologies company has opened an office in Los Angeles, and has hired Jeffrey Dawes as the Director of Content Acquisition. The new office is located in the Warner Center in Woodland Hills. The two moves come as the company enters the emerging online broadcast market with Booyah Broadcasting Group (www.booyahbroadcasting.com).
“Jeffrey has spent almost 20 years navigating new media, specifically in the entertainment industry, so having him take this piece of the business to Los Angeles is a strategic move,” says Michael Shehan, president and CEO. “As the U.S. broadband market continues to grow, Jeffrey’s skills and knowledge of content development, programming and business development will be integral to making Booyah a power player in online broadcasting.“
Jeffrey comes to Booyah from AOL’s video search engine division, Singingfish, where he managed business development. His duties at Singingfish included building and cultivating new revenue streams by negotiating strategic partnerships, building and implementing new business models and completing licensing agreements with industry giants like Microsoft, Real Networks, Lycos and Infospace. Other career highlights include vice president of application development for ChoiceSeat, where he created a new medium for live interactive sports. Jeffrey also spent time managing sales and marketing at Viacom’s Showtime Networks.
“I have made a career out of jumping into new media right before its explosion, that is what made the opportunity at Booyah so compelling,” said Jeffrey. “Joining Booyah gets me at the forefront of what I consider to be the Internet’s next major advancement—broadband video. They have devised a platform that gets content providers, advertisers, traffic partners and ultimately consumers participating in the market’s growth. I am excited to have a role in the development of this emerging business model.”
